I doubt it. What you probably saw was a mix of pit and some other large breed. Max weight on a full blooded pit is about 60 pounds and that would be a big pit.Most people see a bobbed tail and square looking head and they automatically think pit. We do it with people as well. Take Obama, he is equally half white and black yet we describe him as being black, no one ever describes him as being white.
