O, what a drag he is for Dems (Obama may cost NY Dems some congressional seats)

Labor Day finds New York Democrats fear ing that President Obama's sinking approval ratings will cost them ex-US Rep. Anthony Weiner's seat next week, plus several congressional seats and the recapture of the state Senate next year, senior party officials privately concede.

"The fear is that with a Republican [Robert Turner] being so close for the Weiner seat, which is in a traditionally safe Democratic district, that Democratic marginals [in hard-fought districts] like Maurice Hinchey, Paul Tonko and Louise Slaughter, will be in trouble next year," a top Democratic said yesterday, referring to three upstate Congress members.

Obama's polling numbers have dropped to their lowest point ever in heavily Democratic New York as the economy has slowed, unemployment his risen, and controversy has swirled over the president's policy toward Israel....

I’d love to see Hinchey go. He’s the male equivalent of the loathsome Nancy Pelosi and Jan Schakowsky.

Wait for the shock they are going to get next year. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth and people rolling around on the ground tearing at their own chests...if will almost be biblical.

I’ve had the impression that for anybody other than a dem to win any sort of public office in NY would require some sort of divine intervention or some such. Don’t commie “assistants” still go into voting booths with people to “help” them figure the choices out??

If Obama continues as he is going & headed, he may only carry Illinois, California & the District of Columbia!!! Yes, and....you might add New York!!! Maybe!!! Methinks the Democrat Party best broom Obama by forcing him to resign. Short of that, the Republicans will take the House, the Senate and the White House with significant majority numbers!!! Oh, and....folks, Boycott the Obama Speech of Lies next Thursday!!!!

Obama insisted Pelosi and Reed let him get the ‘credit’ for their bills... what a genius.

Hinchey. 72 years old and being treated for colon cancer. “Treatable”. Maybe his age will factor in on that..........

The Repub that ran against him last time was really evasive about the whole obamacare thing. Did a lot of double talk when asked about it. Right then I realized I’d have to hold my nose and vote for a rhino. Sheeze, I am so sick of these self-serving, power hungry phony’s.

It's called "Walkin' Round Money". Of course, in these tough economic times, DemocRATs have to use their money carefully. In precincts that can get by with handing out smokes, they'll hand out smokes for the votes. In more "sophisticated" precincts, it requires a bigger "investment" - say, fixing up a church parking lot so the preacher will tell his congregation how to vote. They may be evil, but they're not stupid.

Sadly so. But, we just have to pick up the pieces and make sure it never happens again.

These trends and redistricting could lead to another sweep and send shock waves through the democrat party the day after election day.

Only a moderate at the top of the ticket could depress the republican base. And of course that’s what the media’s hoping for.
