First Ka-52K Alligator helicopters for Mistral LHDs to be built in Russia in 2012
The first experimental batch of the Ka-52K Alligator attack helicopters for the Mistral class helicopter carriers will be built in Russia in 2012. This was announced September 3 by the Managing Director of the Progress Helicopter Holding, Yury Denisenko.
All the Mistral LHDs, the first of which is to enter service in the Russian Navy in 2014, are planned to be equipped with helicopters Ka-52K and Ka-29.
"The Ka-52K helicopters shall be industrialized in 2014, while the pilot batch is going to be produced in 2012", he said.
Control of Russias littoral regions, which includes large stretches of coasts and zones like the Baltic Sea and much of the Black Sea, depends heavily on helicopters and UAVs. The Mistral Class LHDs would go a long way toward improving Russias capabilities in these areas, if coupled with the necessary training and equipment investments. The introduction of Russias Ka-52 Alligator coaxial scout/attack helicopter, for instance, would also add considerable attack punch to any Russian LHD and to the Mistrals in particular.
For the sake of the helicopters crew I hope those ejection seats eject downward.Otherwise they’re toast.
What’s with the red star?
(Actually a thin blue line has been added between the red star and the white margin)
Blades detach miliseconds before the seat begins to sequence.
Tested with very good results.
The front windscreen and quarter windows remind me of the A-6.
Thanks sukhoi-30mki. Interesting that the NATO name is “Hokum”, heh... anyway, good for two hours in the air and attacking slow-moving air and ground targets, and probably can’t be built for delivery in huge numbers without more US aid. The Russians had some deals with Saddam Hussein that they stopped delivery on, because he stopped paying them. And I hear his checks are no good now. Their Syrian customers are probably going away soon, and central Asia will be US and/or Chinese markets for decades to come. The Russians have one (probably just one) growth market, and that’s India. And India is rapidly developing its own expertise.

Another in a long list of things the russian mil equipment fails to consider.
Wondering if those counter rev blades are similar to their Bear and deafen crews.
Russian’s same as old USSR still primarily focus arms against poorly defended civilains.
Incorrect.
Wondering if those counter rev blades are similar to their Bear and deafen crews.
You mean like all the P-3 and C-130 types who are now suffering from tinnitus?
By the way, those coaxial rotors are one way of solving the problem of retreating blade stall as well as the usual catastrophic results of the loss of a tail rotor.
We ain’t talking Tinnitus. Counter rotators on the Bear make em stone deaf.
Not much research showing noises being a significant cause of tinnitus, tonal hearing loss yes.
Still say Russin mil stuff is bascically junk when up against our stuff. Don’t think one of those helos with the double R blades would last long in combat, you could pick em up on Weather radar. Plus they have to be a maintenance nighmare.
In fact they have helicopters built for farmers since late 60s using the same technology.
They aren’t more loud than any other small choppers and aren’t a ‘maintenance nightmare’.
Peasants are using them for cropdusting and it doesn’t take more care than a large tractor. Hundreds survived decades of neglect socialist abuse and still working.

It is very stable and easy to fly, even a 12 yo can do it after a few hours under adult supervision.
Here is in-cocpit view:

Some 20 years ago there were people in Siberia who never seen a car but were easily operated this helicopter.
Click on pic for past Navair pings.
Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.
I’m not sure these days, but twenty-odd years ago, it was not uncommon to see these birds crop-dusting in rural Japan. I would always stop the car and watch when I saw one.
Stop making sense. ;)
How much verifiable experience do you have in tactical aviation?
What does flight hours have to do with the point I made?
Primaryly, I am right about Russia/USSR mil equipment, other than killing civilians, it doesn’t hold up against our hardware.
Same que to you, but must be VERIFIED.
There is no credible evidence to prove your point.
If you rely on statistics of US vs 3rd World cesspools shooting fish in a barrel encounters it is simply stupid.
Following the same logic you have to claim Mustang and Vette as inferior to VW minivan for a reason American muscles are much more often defeated by police interceptors.
Bad guys flies Migs in this World and Sheriff flies F-15.
Plain and simple.
Pros of a Russian technology are obvious. It is offering high-end foolproof solutions to customers who normally unable to both afford and operate any other equipment in it’s class.
For example AK-47 provides an effective assault rifle to people who normally qualified to fight battles with sticks and stones. Give them M-4 carbine and they won’t utilize it’s pros. They’ll ruin it in a short period of time to end up with sticks and stones.
To some extent it is true about any other Russian products including tanks and fighter planes.
It is true about Russian civilian mashinery as well.
Considering an environment and conditions it is used in, it is all much safer and more reliable than any other tech. It is attributed to ‘death trap’ Soviet airliners as well.
The only except is indeed AK-47, but that is a fluke. Also if it was that peferct you’d see lots of copies being made outside the commie world. Comparing to M4 is not realistic. Try that same against M16.
Still remains true my assertion that Ruski shi’te is made for use against civilians, AK-47 proves perfectly.
AM curious why you feel is important to defend anything Russia on FR of all places. Lots of old ColdWarriors here, who at the time did not know everyting Russian turns to poop and should not have been worried much about, well execpt vodka and your AK.
I don’t like stereotypes and myths, that is the reason.
It doesn’t make me less conservative for FR:)
