He’s going to be in Detroit at the Labor Day parade and rally afterward with Richard Trumpka and the unions. Why couldn’t he have used that occasion to put fourth his “jobs plan”? Seems like the WH would have jumped on that opportunity with all his union buddies cheering him on...and on Labor Day, too.

You would think he’d prefer a friendly audience, wouldn’t you ? The Congress is certainly not going to that. So what reason could he have ? I think it comes down to trying to reassert himself as the “Leader” with the Congress forced by custom to appear quiet and attentive. I hope the GOP isn’t overly polite about it. They should shake their heads in despair as to a slow learner every time he suggests more spending. They should not rise as he enters or leaves the room, and certainly not applaud no matter what he says. Unless of course he announces his entire administration including Biden is resigning effective immediately. That might be worth applauding.
