You know youre in trouble when Harry Reid says you should be more aggressive.
If the languid Obama had not done his usual irritating fourth-quarter play, if he had presented a jobs plan a year ago and fought for it, he wouldnt have needed to elevate the setting. How will he up the ante next time? A speech from the space station?
Republicans who are worried about being political props have a point. The president is using the power of the incumbency and a sacred occasion for a political speech.
Obama is still suffering from the Speech Illusion, the idea that he can come down from the mountain, read from a Teleprompter, cast a magic spell with his words and climb back up the mountain, while we scurry around and do what he proclaimed.
The days of spinning illusions in a Greek temple in a football stadium are done. The One is dancing on the edge of one term.
The White House team is flailing reacting, regrouping, retrenching. Its repugnant.
After pushing and shoving and caving to get on TV, the presidents advisers immediately began warning that the long-yearned-for jobs speech wasnt going to be that awe-inspiring.
The issue isnt the size or the newness of the ideas, one said. Its less the substance than how he says it, whether he seizes the moment.
The arc of justice is stuck at the top of a mountain. Maybe Obama was not even the person he was waiting for.

I don’t get it. How could Douglas pick her over Maureen the screech owl?
How about: “...to the land of bilk ‘em, honey.” /
LOL
There is also the land of “Gimme all your money honey”.
Hmmm, that doesn't make any sense. Did she mean "ark"?
From the Founders' standpoint, as evidenced by JQA's statement, such House action and such citizen action are appropriate constitutional methods for controlling an overreaching President in a free society.
Democrats and the MSM cannot win the battle of ideas with their love for coercive government control and planning; therefore, they must attempt to denigrate those who exercise their constitutional duty in opposition to presidential policies. Adams' words are a strong rebuttal to such ignorance and distortion of constitutionally-provided protections for liberty.
Ark. Okay, that makes sense, thank you. I fear the copy editors at the Old Gray Commie are being selected from Generation Text.
Wow. If Obama has lost Maureen Dowd, then he is in serious danger of losing the entire confused leftist imbecile pundit vote.
(Well, not really. Despite the grumbling, Obama continues to be the embodiment of their anti-American dreams and fantasies, and they will continue to be his obediant servants, parroting his telepromptered talking points, cheering his destructive actions and worshiping his stench.)
They probably had to let the copy editors go by now.
The funny thing is that there is a novel titled Arc of Justice which deals with racial/civil rights issues in Detroit ca. 1920, but of course a book title would have been capitalized and it makes no sense that it would be stuck at the top of a mountain...no, it seems no one at the NYT knows the difference between the segment of a curve in geometry and a large, wooden flotation device.
“The arc of justice is stuck at the top of a mountain.
Hmmm, that doesn’t make any sense. Did she mean “ark”?”
Yes, but she means ‘arc” also. She is making a play on words, and making fun of Obama. “Arc of justice” is an Obama phrase alluding to justice for the ‘workers’ (commie soundbite). Sticking his ‘arc’ on the mountain is a nod to the Ark on coming to rest on a high mountain. Justice hasn’t come down.
It’s just a little jab, but not bad for a lib.
Maa salama Baraq !
I made this last week based on a suggestion made by my wife's boss after he found out I make designs to sell on CafePress.
I liked his idea enough to lay it out and put it up.
Michael would now be praying for death...
More and more, the demons are turning on Satan.
Thanks, didn’t know Obama used that phrase. I hardly ever listen/read beyond “let me be clear” or “make no mistake”...;-)
But she still writes crap like the following, “Polls show that most Americans still like and trust the president; but they may no longer have faith that hes a smarty-pants who can fix the economy.”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Most Americans still like and trust him? Not in my book.
