A fighter jet has intercepted a small civilian airplane in restricted airspace near the presidential retreat at Camp David, Md., and escorted it to at an airport in West Virginia.
The North American Aerospace Defense Command says the Piper plane was out of radio communication when it was intercepted by an F-15E fighter at about 4:45 p.m. It was diverted to the airport in Martinsburg.

Stay safe, Obambi. The last thing we need is you to be martyred by some Islamic buckaroo and leave us with Plugs as CIC. 15 months to retirement.

Mullah flies solo to Maatha’s Vineyard. Then solo back to Washington, early. Then solo and diverted helo flight / convoy to Camp David. Then Piper intercepted over Camp David.
Unusual maneuvers.

Glad you brought up the Marine One incident......seems to have gotten lost some where along the time line. Perhaps someone else will bring all up to speed on that. Haven't heard word one about that incident on the networks yet, probably due to rewrites, scripting and the selection of a credible (?) announcer. Threats to POTUS's safety are taken seriously.
Well, that about covers Friday's and Saturday's. What's in store for Sunday.....a rabid gopher on the golf course?

Cool, thanks for that video. (They should bill the Piper pilot for all the fuel used by the F-15 during what must have been a horribly inefficient intercept, though.)

F-22’s are stationed at Andrews, they are all grounded. So a Strike Eagle must have been brought in on alert for NORAD. BTW F-15C’s are shaky also. There is thread on FR about Boeing doing cycle to failure on the airframes.

First, the article identifies the AC as a “Piper” which could be anything from a 60kt Cub to a 230kt SE turboprop.
An F15 can do about 75kt - below that is probably not allowed by regs as stalling / spinning (easy) at low altitude is frowned upon.
To: NY.SS-Bar9
An F15 can do about 75kt 75 knots is well below stall

Not sure where I “remembered” that one - Maybe I was thinking about the 14 - The 15 is probably double that number.
Thanks for the correction.
