Correct me if I’m wrong, but Reagan didn’t throw his hat in the ring until November.

You are correct.

In the PRE-Intenet Era and in the PRE-Cable TV & PRE-Satellite TV Era when all your information came through CBS, NBC, ABC and the newspaper or magazine you subscribed to, the World moved at a much more leisurely pace dictated by the Big Three TV networks, by the New York Times and by the Washington Post.

By contrast, in the Intenet Era and in the Cable TV & Satellite TV Era, the political landscape is on "Fast Forward". Just ask Tim Pawlenty.

In November of 1979, Ronald Reagan possessed a large, professional, well-oiled political machine and fundraising machine built up in his 1976 campaign and over the next four years.

By contrast, in September of 2011, Sarah Palin has not made any efforts to create a campaign infrastructure and the major donors and professional staff have already been courted and won by other candidates.

Diffrent Era. Different World. Different pace. Same fact that, without a campaign infrastucture, you are burnt toast.

You have not one iota of understanding. Not one.

If Palin runs, she is not going to use tired political hacks. Nor big donors that she will owe favors.

You want to get a clue? Listen to her speech today. It's posted.

And don't forget that during Reagan's time, there was only one actual debate which Reagan suddenly surged to the top from. There were also only 3 major propaganda networks and mainstream America was mostly glued to the 6:00 news or the NYT Headlines.

In this era, believing that Palin is greatly loved by all and worship the ground she walks on, but the media is covering all of that up, is pure delusion.

Palin could enter the race all she wants, but her numbers won't change all that much. She will have that 10 to 15% loyal die hard fan base, but the main voting public will go for the more moderate kind of candidate.

The big money is already headed Perry's way. From Big Oil to Coal, to Industry. An 11 year Governor from a state the size and complexity of Texas, with an extremely solid economic record, is what will win this election.

Well if she were to announce she would draw in tons of money in a very short time. I do not think she will run but I love the fact that there is always room for one more. A 22 minute speech that was good, and 45 minutes mixing with the folks. Sarah is special because of her connection with the folks. She is money and very valuable to the mission of making Obama a one term President and gaining 15 Senate seats and more House seats. She is like no one else and will put her political capital where she feels it best serves the country.

Thanks for your reply, Polybius.

It’s more facts I wasn’t aware of. Incidentally, that’s why I like FR; I learn so much.

Best wishes to you and yours.

Agree. I keep saying this. Obama has a well oiled machine. In addition, the ACORNS will be back in business as would the SEIU, NEA, NARAL, Planned parenthood, EMILY’s LIST, and unionists of all stripes, and billions dollars of free pro-Obama coverage. Without a solid campaign infrastructure for “rapid response” any campaign that downplays the need for a seasoned campaign staff is toast. National elections is not like running in Alaska.

As well as the double standard of Palinista’s calling Bachmann and Perry RINO’s and former democrats when Reagan was also former democrat. It is quite obvious Palin is a spokesperson and will set the bar high for the GOP.
