Former Governor Sarah Palin gave the keynote speech at a Tea Party rally in Indianola, Iowa on Saturday afternoon.
"We sent a new class of leaders to DC, but immediately the permanent political class, they tried to co-opt them. Because the reality is we are governed by a permanent political class, until we change that," Palin said about career politicians. "They talk about massive, unsustainable debt and yet they keep incurring more. They spend, they print, they borrow, they spend more, and they stick us with the bill. Then they pat their own backs and they claim that they faced and solved the debt crisis that they got us in."
On crony capitalism: "So many of them, they arrive in Washington, DC of modest means and then miraculously throughout the years they end up becoming very, very wealthy. Well, it's because they derive power and their wealth from their access to our money, to taxpayer dollars."
"They use it to bail out their friends on Wall Street. And their corporate cronies. And to reward contributors. And to buy votes via earmarks. There is so much waste. And there is a name for this. It's called 'corporate crony capitalism,'" she said.
Like you, Im not for sale. I believe in the free market and that is why I detest crony capitalism. And Barack Obama has shown us cronyism on steroids. It will lead to our downfall if we dont stop it now.
The speech, roughly 40 minutes, ranged from politics to policy. Palin made sure to address reforming taxes and entitlements. Palin called for eliminating all federal corporate income taxes and called entitlement reform "our duty."

BTW, when is Palin going to announce?
“”They use it to bail out their friends on Wall Street. And their corporate cronies. And to reward contributors. And to buy votes via earmarks. There is so much waste. And there is a name for this. It’s called ‘corporate crony capitalism,’” she said.”
Slap at Perry?
Facts from where? Post a link or source.
For the same reasons you or I would.
The PDSer trolling the thread is trying to make a class warfare/jealousy/envy case, that because AWESOME PATRIOT SARAH PALIN has made millions from her own hard work and enterprises, -— book sales, SARAH PALIN’S ALASKA tv series, Fox news contract, etc -— that she will not give that up to run for POTUS, when in fact that only applied to Huckabee....lol... who was actually leading in the polls, lest we all forget!
Sarah Palin has repeatedly said that her decision would rest with her family and with God’s guidance. She prays seriously and faithfully and never makes a show of it.
The news media *reported* sometime in 2010 IIRC, that Sarah Palin is worth $12 Million, and it’s also *reported* that she receives $1 Million a year from Fox.
Given that Sarah Palin is a private citizen, the news media reports about her net worth and income are guess work at best.
We all know CGG’s game. Envy and jealousy play a big part in it.
If I were Palin, there is no way in heck I would give up 12 million dollars a year to run for president with those kinds of poll numbers.
I can't answer your question, but I've rarely seen it asked as well as that. Hat tip.
I'd guess she has the least personal wealth of anyone currently in the race. Why do you think any of the rest of them run?
You are forgiven, my dear onyx.
What if you thought none of the other candidates would make any difference if they were elected?
Mitt probably has more personal wealth, I don’t know how Perry could have anywhere near the wealth of Palin, Bachmann probably not as wealthy as Palin and she may find herself out of a job.
By coincidence, I watched Ken Burn's documentary on Long on Netflix yesterday. That clip opens the film. Long was a corrupt socialist demagogue and dictator; but there is no doubt he was an incredibly gifted campaigner and wickedly smart politician that belied his comic rube schtick. (Heck, I caught myself nodding in agreement, and laughing at his stories, thoroughly entertained)
Long's rhetoric and style still strikes a nerve. Palin strikes a nerve. She's got none of the darkness of Long, but, you're right, she's got similar gifts as a campaigner and does at times mine similar political veins.
Long was once asked if fascism would ever come to America. His reply was “yes, but we’ll call it democracy”.
Mariner, your comment on the personal security issue was apropos. I believe most people are still underestimating the stakes and the lengths to which the players will go. We left “business as usual” quite a ways back.
Duty, child, duty! is why she will run.
“Mitt probably has more personal wealth, I dont know how Perry could have anywhere near the wealth of Palin, Bachmann probably not as wealthy as Palin and she may find herself out of a job.”
Perry has made millions and millions and millions off his pay to play deals.
Bachmann has a book coming out and a Degaying business that she gets tax dollars to run.
Mitt probably has more personal wealth”
Romney is worth around 300 million dollars.
Whether you like it or not, when mentioning Palin to someone, they always say she quit in the middle of her term in Alaska. This will hurt her and there is no taking it away.
