I tell you they were shouting "Run, Sarah, Run" and NOW you say: It doesnt matter what 200 people who show up say or do.
Right.
She made a ‘surprise’ stop at a C4P gathering. The way these things usually work is that the C4P organizers will tell members that there’s a ‘possibility’ SP will stop by, so of COURSE they are going to go, and of COURSE they are going to chant “Run, Sarah, Run,” and of COURSE they will vote for her if she runs in the caucus and general. This was NOT a random gathering.
With her celebrity status, anyplace she goes, people will get excited and crane their necks and want to shake her hand, etc., but THAT reaction in a random crowd would not so readily translate into the folks voting for her. That, I believe, is the point Hildy was trying to get at. Hell, I’ve seen people who wouldn’t vote for Obama to save their first-born’s life go into a tizzy if he was around. Celebrity does that to people.
