WASHINGTON - For much of the past year, Mitt Romney seemed to strenuously avoid looking as if he were too closely linked to the Tea Party. No longer.
In an apparent strategic shift, Romney will be standing beneath a Tea Party Express banner in New Hampshire on Sunday night, and by Monday afternoon he will be at a Republican gathering in South Carolina hosted by Senator Jim DeMint, the South Carolina Republican and Tea Party kingmaker.
What changed?

A coalition of Tea Party groups is planning to stage a protest event about 30 minutes before Romney is scheduled to speak at the Tea Party Express rally....[Tea Party Express spokesperson] Russell called the protest "a silly stunt thats unhelpful to advancing the Tea Party movement or finding a suitable replacement for Barack Obama."

Bunch of fakers in the audience if there is no anti Romneycare signs in the crowd.

Uh, Mittens, it takes more than “just words” to embrace the TEA Party. ACTIONS, old boy... ACTIONS!

The establishment may want a Haaaavard 0bamalite

“Hemingway had generous words for Perry, but said the Tea Party movement generally is motivated more right now to try to stop Romney than to coalesce around one candidate.
The only consensus that there is, is, Anybody but Romney, Hemingway said. After that, it splits between Bachmann, Ron Paul, and Rick Perry.”
I don’t think liberal bastard Romney is fooling many grass roots conservatives.

What changed? What changed is that Romney has started to think conservatives might actually have some power in the race, and he wants to make sure we go for him rather than Rick Perry. No chance, Mitt, sorry. Neither you nor Perry is a true conservative, but he's closer to it than you are.

Romney will be standing beneath a Tea Party Express banner in New Hampshire on Sunday night This is such a strange statement.
A planned photo-op for the Tea Party Express? This suggests that someone in the Romney camp contacted some self-appointed leader in the Tea Party Express and asked if they could do this. Smells like a sell-out in the Tea Party Express.

Romeny is the antithesis of what is needed. He would have continued to absolutely ignore the TP as he despises the movement and what it stands for. Unfortunately for him, Perry has turned Myth’s comfortable campaign on its head.
I hope Romney get the cr@p hammered out of him at this event, Wednesday night and from here on out. I despise this narcissist almost as much as the chief narcissist.

Everytime I see that pic, I think of it as the most damning evidence as to why Romney won't be nominated in the GOP.

Mitt. How can I break this to you? Conservatives would rather eat dirt than vote for you. You have the support of the elitist Republican establishment. That makes you toxic. You are their lapdog. You have no business running for POTUS. You are part of the problem, not the solution. You may be able to schmoozed the IOC but not conservatives. You are making a fool of yourself. We know you are a Northeast liberal. You and your daddy always have been liberal. It is in your blueblood. You would have better success at erasing the spots off a leopard. If by some huge mistake you are elected, you will NOT be any different than your entire life has been. You are no better than the other RINOs who cozy up to conservatives at election times and then stab us in the back time after time.
