DES MOINES, Iowa -- Though she won't be a candidate when she delivers a major address at a tea party rally in Iowa on Saturday, Sarah Palin will make it clear that she if enters the presidential race later this month she will vociferously challenge Texas Gov. Rick Perrys engrained image of solidarity with the tea party movement.
In her speech at the bucolic National Balloon Classic field in Indianola, Palin will lean on loaded phrases like crony capitalism and permanent political class in laying out her view of the U.S. political systems deep-rooted ills, according to a source close to Palin and familiar with the content of the speech.
Though she will not call Perry out by name, Palins carefully couched rhetoric will leave the impression that she may soon draw more overt attention to one of the Texans potential vulnerabilities as a candidate: his history of doling out plum positions and other benefits to generous campaign donors during his nearly 11-year tenure as the nations longest serving governor.

Someone is playing “Let’s you and him fight” or “divide and conquer” and, after reading much of this thread, I see it is working pretty well. Who really benefits? O, let me think about it. O.
“She has no staff, no fundraisers, etc., and it takes this in all 50 states. She has none of this and cannot mount a credible campaign to become president.”
If this is true, you should be smiling smugly instead of spending huge amounts of time and energy trying to tear Sarah down and anyone who supports her.
You said earlier that anyone could give a speech like this. Well, it just kills you that Sarah is not “anyone”. No candidate garners the amount of attention or wields as much influence as Sarah. Sure, she will have hurdles and challenges to overcome, namely destroying the caricature the media and republican elites have created.
If you have a candidate you support, great, support them. I just don’t see why you feel the need to put so much energy into attacking, when all we can do is support our respective candidates, and wait to see how the primary shakes out. My candidate is one that inspires me, doesn’t back down, has a record of integrity, and as a bonus, she is just plain fun to support. If your candidate doesn’t inspire you in this way, maybe you should find a new one.
1) I like her
2) She is right on all the issues that I care about
3) She is charismatic
4) She is NOT a “politician” in the traditional sense... and I use that term in the most demeaning and putrid sense possible

the more I learn about Perry the more I am inclined to vote for Mitt, if Sarah doesn’t run. At least we know what he is. Perry appears devious on a lot of issues. Not straightforward.
Reagan toyed with running until November 13th.

I don’t care what anybody else says. The best thing Perry can do for Texas is defeat Obama and I believe Perry can beat him. As a life-long Texan and grandmother, I think Perry is doing what is best for Texas and this country and I applaud him making the committment to run. That’s my opinion and I don’t give a rip what anyone else thinks. I’ve lived long enough to know circumstances in life change and can take you in directions you never thought possible - you accommodate, adjust, and possibly change plans. Perry has my vote in the primary, but whoever the nominee is, I will support him/her wholeheartedly - ABO!
Is that why you're on a Palin thread making friends?
I'm happy for ya. But this Grandma has had enough of politicians. Including Texan politicians.
Let’s put it this way: If Sarah declines to run at this point, and instead endorses Rick Perry, as John Fund predicts, it will be the biggest egg that a GOP politician has ever laid. Thus, it will not happen. It’s time for her to get into the scrap. The time for Sarah withdrawing herself from consideration has long passed. Bob
What makes you say that? How are you familiar with Scott Conroy? Isn't he a recent addition to Real Clear Politics?
So only Palin supporters are allowed on Palin threads? Gee, I wish only Perry supporters were allowed on Perry threads.
And if this is a Palin thread, then why are you talking about Perry? I was only responding to your comment.
And haven’t we all had enough of politicians! Unfortunately, everyone running or considering running is a politician.
And I don’t seek out friends on websites - I just expressed my opinion to your comment. My beliefs and opinions are what they are - people can reject them or not - I don’t care.
And I have repeatedly said whoever the nominee is has my vote. I’m not going to be some crybaby who sits in the corner sobbing into my little blanket sucking my binky if my guy isn’t the nominee - I’m not a cult follower of anyone. This election is too serious for such silliness.
And, personally, I don’t think Palin or Perry either one are quitters. I understand why Palin left office and accept those reasons. And the last time I checked, Perry is still our governor, and I know if he does become President, he will keep fighting for Texas as well as all other states.
He has been covering Sarah since 2008 veep run.
Nope. But inciters aren't appreciated. And they troll Palin threads the same way they do Perry threads. I wish they'd all get a clue.
And havent we all had enough of politicians! Unfortunately, everyone running or considering running is a politician.
Yeah but you know the difference between a politician and a public servant.
And, personally, I dont think Palin or Perry either one are quitters. I understand why Palin left office and accept those reasons.
I will never understand why posters have to incite. It serves no purpose. But you've seen it too. It only causes enmity.
I agree, and I’ve seen it too. It bothers me because ANY of these candidates is light years better than Obama, and I just feel we need to focus on the enemy. I will vote for the Republican nominee because I feel 4 more years of Obama will mean the end of this great country. I especially think of the Supreme Court justices he could appoint - what a nightmare!
All of us on this site may have different candidates whom we support in the primary - I just hope for the sake of this nation we can all come together in the general and support the Republican nominee. The enemy is OBAMA!
We have ONE shot at this. ALL of them need to be checked for “warts”. We don’t want any Oct ‘12 surprises. We already know Palins warts. And her kids. I’m afraid it’s going to get ugly. And I’m just not ready for it.
Strange echo in here. I swear I heard this same line as late as October, 1979.
That line in granny's tantrum speaks volumes about what's REALLY torquing her. LOL
Projectionism projecting is when someone puts their own issues on someone else, i.e. it is when a person attributes his/her own thoughts/feelings/behaviors to/on to another person, and a/or a group of ppl, and an/or an organization.
Perry and Muslims
How about bringing Muslim into our schools to bring the Muslim mind set into mainstream thinking?

Perry has never taken an anti-Muslim or anti-Islam position.
Most of Perrys contenders have distanced themselves from Islam and Muslims.
Herman Cain has said he would not have Muslims in his cabinet if he is elected because he questions their loyalty.
Newt Gingerich said I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the tim my grandchildren are my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially on dominated by radical Islamists.
Michele Bachmann said: Not all cultures are equal. Not all values are equal.
Even Romney who I wouldnt support under any circumstances said: based on the nubers of American Muslims in our population, I cannot see that a cabinet position would be justified but later disputed the accuracy of that statement. (flip flop)
On the other hand here is one of Perrys comments.
It is a great honor to be in the presence of the Imam of 16 million Muslims around the world, a global humanitarian leader, a man of peace with a pluralistic vision for people around the world, His Highness, the Aga Khan, the 49th Hereditary Imam of the Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims. Your Highness, on behalf of 23 million Texans, and over 600,000 thousand Muslims living in Texas, I extend our heartfelt appreciation for your 50 years of great international leadership. We are delighted to welcome you to the Lone Star State and participate in the celebration of your Golden Jubilee. I am also grateful to the many federal, state and local leaders in attendance tonight. By their presence, these special guests convey the profound respect that exists in the Western World for His Highness work and leadership.
But nobody is at any time... except Palin.
Yep, he jumped right in there in NOVEMBER!
