Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who recently underwent an experimental injection of his own adult stem cells to relieve back pain, pushed a bill through the Legislature in June that paves the way for a company co-owned by his doctor to become the first state-approved "bank" to store and cultivate such cells for medical treatment, according to internal emails and corporate records obtained by NBC News.
The measure, which was adopted without any public hearings, could prove a financial bonanza for Celltex Therapeutics Corp. a Houston company headed by Stanley Jones, the surgeon who injected the cells into Perry, and David G. Eller, the former chairman of the board of Texas A&M University and a longtime political donor to Perry who says he has served as a "strategic" adviser for his presidential run, according to industry officials and scientific researchers who have closely followed the issue.
Perry's role in pushing the stem cell bank bill, at the same time he was receiving injections of stem cells, illustrates two aspects of his record that are drawing increasing attention as he pursues the presidency: his enthusiasm for ideas that are sometimes outside the scientific mainstream and what critics view as his willingness to use the levers of state government to benefit friends and political benefactors.

what a novelty
my oh my the professional DNC opposition researchers are throwing everything they can at Governor Perry, hoping something will stick, trying to peel off conservatives one special interest issue at a time
He is getting Palinized
It is laughable
Aye carumba!
This story is from their “top” investigative reporter and if this is the best they can come up with then it’s about to be President Perry.
Its not going to work
Where are MSNBC’s investigations into Obama’s campaign contributors? We’re still waiting for full disclosure of all those “small online contributors” who gave to his ‘08 campaign.
Here we have a situation where the embryonic stem cell people in the MSM have been so careful to NEVER differentiate between ESCs and ASCs they are reduced to saying just "stem cells" ~ to which their conditioned reading public simply says "so what!".
There's a similar problem with the illegal aliens and payoffs to big name contributors ~ Democrats love both!
This is why it is vital that Conservatives fully check out this Perry guy in every respect ~ particularly those areas that the other Democrats find so endearing.
If Rick wants to apologize I'm sure we can find plenty of crushed glass for him to crawl through (metaphorically of course) and if he's half the guy the Perbots say he is he'll be willing to talk about it openly.
His performance yesterday with Mark Levin was pitiful ~ Mark threw him softballs and Rick addressed the issues in the lowest key possible.

If Texas is not sufficiently Conservative to support a real Conservative, you need to attend to that problem first.
Perry always on all sides of every issue.

AGREED
By accepting only adult stem cells, Perry has just slapped Abortion facilities in the face. I’ll vote for him. (Unless, of course, Sarah runs.)
Too many politicians are inherently crooked and corrupt and have a singular mission to make cronies and donors rich, and they need exposed regardless of their Party.
The press/media once served a major role in keeping government honest. Since the role of news and media have been consolidated that role has been blurred and watered down. They need to replace reality TV and crime TV (i.e. Nancy Grace types) with major effort to expose political corruption. If they are crooked they need exposed.
Where are all these hot-shot journalists when it comes time to look up Obama’s past?
Their bias is shining like the sun.
He was on Laura Ingram last week and for every question she asked he went into canned campaign rhetoric. Toward the end she told him his answers are "boring."
I have heard a lot of the interviews on her show and his was right at the bottom.
If he does that in a debate he isn't going to do well at all.
.
Fake Palin undercover paulnut ping list for anything Perry?
Since these were his own adult stem cells taken from his own body fat, how does this conflict with any previous stance?
If anything, it shows there is less need than others claim for embryonic stem cells.
