I think that we are going to be looking at a Perry/ROmney ticket. From the intermingling of the camps already, it would appear to be the case. I say this as a Perry supporter, and I do NOT like Romney....But I understand why that ticket could be powerful in the general. With Romney they probably split a lot of the blue states with Obama....
or at least that would be the theory.
I’d prefer Perry/Pawlenty myself. If ever there was a pol with “VP” written all over him it’s T-PAW.
Should Rick Perry be blessed with the nomination, I’m not sure I’m up for a Perry - Romney ticket. I can’t stand Romney, and I can’t see Perry side by side such a metrosexual egomaniac. Besides, wouldn’t he only have to pick Romney if he felt he needed him to win the election, and I don’t think he would need him for that. Perhaps others may disagree.
Also, there was a thread yesterday with an article announcing Rick Perry has pledged he would choose a VP who is not only pro-life but is a passionate pro-life activist. I can easily see that being someone like Marco Rubio or Rick Santorum, perhaps a number of others. I don’t think Romney would quite fit that bill nor would I believe ANYONE could label Mitt Romney as an pro-life advocate. While he may have flip flopped to say he is pro-life, I’ve never seen anything to indicate Romney is passionate about that issue.
BTW, that pledge would, I would assume, disqualify Rudy Giuliani as well (as some were concerned he might be on a Perry VP list) but it could include Mike Huckabee??????
I can tell you that after seeing the path Michele Bachmann has taken here and her dirty little deal with the devil Romney, I don’t want to see her as a VP pick for Rick Perry. If Michele Bachmann wants to hang her hat on Mitt Romney, let her go down with him!
