I have little patience for those WODers that haven’t tried to better themselves through self-education and haven’t bothered to learn basic economic facts. Google is free. What is their excuse?

Sadly for too many it's simply ingrained thinking.
It's just like here where I live. There is a large Democrat turnout in every election despite race or economic status. When asked why the person votes Democrat the answer is usually along the lines of "My family has always voted Democrat."
"We've always been at war with Eastasia."

Propagandist brow beating works too! Just say no!
Just say no to governmental overreach!
