Read the NYT front page article on this and then read the WSJ version. The WSJ version leaves out facts favorable to Boehner and leads one to believe 0 warned the GOP of the date and time ahead of informing the press. The WSJ makes the NYT look fair and balanced! What a rag it has become.
Ala Clinton, one must carefully parse what has been said. The administration claims they "coordinated" with Boehner before they released the letter requesting the meeting. That is probably literally true (and the "coordinating" apparently consisted of informing Boener's office to expect a letter).
However, before the official letter, the administration leaked this to the press. My take is they leaked the information first, called Boehner's office after that, THEN they released the official letter. You have to carefully parse what comes out of this administration. Of course that is expecting to much of the LSM.
On Fox this morning, even Geraldo Rivera (who I certainly do not consider a right-winger) said it was nonsense that the administration didn't realize they would step on the debate (he used a nore colorful word, but I will spare you).
By the way, no matter what the President wanted it could not have been on Tuesday, because the House is not called to session until Wednesday.
