There are also plans on the drawing board for nuclear rockets that are feasible This is a reference to propulsion.
NASA just launched a solar powered craft to Jupiter, where only nuclear powered craft have gone before.
This is a reference to payload power supply.
Nothing quite like comparing apples to atom bombs ...

and by massive support I'm referring to to the massive layoffs coming to NASA. lord knows that private industry has this under control in the next 15 years. NASA was a grand project.

This is a reference to propulsion. This is a reference to payload power supply. You're right on both counts, however the point is NASA has an inability to make a correct decision (nuclear or solar) when their priorities are all out of whack, or when they are being micromanaged by politicians.
