What would you have the GOP do “to outlaw abortion?”
Roe v Wade is the law, as I understand it.
Certain limited restrictions on abortion but not outlawing it have passed in quite a few states.
Some have survived court challenges, others have been struck down.
What would you have the GOP do “to outlaw abortion?”
It’s a good question. It is imperative that we get a strongly pro-life, conservative President into office in Jan. 2013. Then we can get some more conservative Supreme Court Justices on the SCOTUS. Of course that also means we must take over the US Senate as well & with a comfortable majority. It will be a tall order, but is doable considering the current curcumstances.
I would have the GOP relentlessly appoint young stainless steel judges to SCOTUS and every inferior federal court who are absolutely committed to forcing Roe vs. Wade to join the infamous Dred Scott decision in the dustbin of history. Bring cases to the court only when the judiciary has been adequately "reformed."
Those judges should also be just as committed to the individual right to keep and bear arms, to dismantling the Kelo decision allowing governments to take people's homes for commercial developers to maximize local tax revenues, to protecting the sanctity of marriage as a matter between one man and one woman (all human and no space aliens, transgenders or other members of the wierdo American community), to the right to worship, as commonly understood, free of gummint interference and to the right of parents to direct the education of their children and the terms of that education and to "creating" no more "rights" to alternatively affectioned anything (no twelvesomes, no household pets as significant others. etc.).
Make this a political war over the judiciary, its meaning and its obligations. When the liberals scream over each appointment like banshees doused in Holy Water, pile on more such appointments in the bureaucracy (lifetime if possible) as well as the judiciary. If the liberals have the votes to frustrate lifetime judicial appointments, make recess appointments as necessary and cut the liberals out of the process. Then make permanent appointments when we have the votes. Apply to the judiciary the enthusiasm that Pelosi, Obozo and Reid applied in the attempt to destroy our medical system.
Start the process of constitutional amendments as necessary to institutionalize conservative gains (including balanced budget requirements without escape hatches for jacking taxes to balance the budget in the absence of genuine disasters or major wars).
Wage political war on the issue of what is NORMAL and what is not. Chaz Bono is NOT normal. Neither is Pelosi nor the Islamonutcase Congressman Carson (?) from Indiana who claims the Tea Party wants to lynch him and other blacks nor Senator Nancyboy Kirk of Illinois posing as a Republican nor Code Pink nor Ron Paul and the anarchoPaulistinians posing as Republicans nor drug legalization advocates and other pushers nor.... well, you get the idea.
Also, the default position ought to be the reversal of each and every executive order of Slick Willy and Obozo unless proven useful beyond a reasonable doubt (da*n few in that category).
Learn to laugh in the faces of our enemies and to ridicule them in person and behind their backs. There is absolutely nothing they hate more than being laughed at. Read Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals and Reveille for Radicals and apply his brilliant tactics to decent causes for a change, wherever morally one may do so.
Above all: Stop acting as though politics were beanbag. It is not. Crush the leftist bastards once and for all. Spectacularly, memorably and forever.
