Do you think that has something to do with GE buying half of them?
GE hasn’t bought any yet. They’re waiting on volume production to start, which is underway now. Hamtramck should be able to churn out almost 4,000 a month by the end of this year.
Then we’ll see if there’s real demand for the cars after the limited number of enviroweenies get theirs.
Oops- GE has started taking deliveries of the 2012 Volt. About 2500 have been made and shipped, w/ some going to Cananda and Europe. Fleet is a big chunk - Bloomblurgh had the NYPD buy a bunch for their fleet.
I read on another thread that the Chevy dealerships were made to purchase two Volts apiece.
