In their quest to widen the low-road and increase its rider-ship, the liberal Washington, D.C-based Politico just offered up this hackneyed but oh so predictable headline: Is Rick Perry Dumb?
Really? While its no surprise to conservatives and independents that the liberal mainstream media would pull out the old attack Ronald Reagan hand-book, dust it off, and use its previously discredited assaults to go after the surging Perry, a better question to be asked is:
What are they all so afraid of?
First of all, something which must be highlighted and stressed by all who care about fairness and accuracy is that Texas Gov. Rick Perry not only honorably served in our military but that he was a decorated Air Force pilot.
At about the same age that President Obama (by his own admission) was trying to find himself and experimenting with drugs, Perry was strapping himself into the cockpit of multi-million dollar Air Force aircraft.
For those on the left who may not understand as many look down upon our military and mock its very existence, getting through flight training and becoming a pilot in the United States Air Force is a very exacting process which actually does take a high degree of intelligence, skill, judgment, and even courage.

NO!
Obongo Bozo could not (and still cannot) pass the routine FBI background investigation required of all military officers for a Secret clearance!
Not to mention his admitted drug use!
WORST PRESIDENT EVER!
IS IT 2012 YET?
Wait. Perry's an Eagle Scout? I guess that makes up for him being an Aggie.
(Just a joke, people. And I didn't say it was a good joke.)
For the record - and it's an old photo, given that those Venturing shirts aren't worn with grey pants - somebody should tell those two fine young men that you never, ever, ever wear your Order of the Arrow sash tucked in your belt. You choose between the OA sash and the Merit Badge sash. We've all seen it done, but the insignia guide and the OA say it's a no-no.
I thought the same thing for an instant when I looked at the picture . . . but then I remembered there's such a thing as Photoshop.

Riding a bicycle takes balance, not smarts. He is athletic enough to have balance, I think.
Well, I have a friend who flys KC135s. When he was interviewing, they asked about his criminal record. He was arrested for underage drinking{one week away from his 21st birthday}
They sent CID down to the bar owner and interviewed the police chief. After a week, they came back and told him he was railroaded by the local yokels. They passed him into the program.
Obama wouldnt be able to pass that kind of vetting. Hell, he couldnt spell USAF.
No.
I personally worked with thousands of active duty USAF pilots in direct operations support, during my enlisted career in the USAF. My vote should count triple.
Not smart enough to win? He would try to go UP the hill.
The Left tries this on on every single conservative candidate, Reagan was an amiable old dunce, Bush I was a rich fool, Dole was a geriatric dummy, Quayle was a stupid young frat-boy (so was Bush II), Palin and Bachmann are both back-woods rednecks and bible-thumpers. Now Perry is in the media, the same is being tried on him.
I think it goes even further back - to Eisenhower, who was always portrayed as intellectually inferior to Adlai Stevenson. Interesting that they couldn’t peg Nixon as stupid - only as evil.
