One Republican presidential candidate who would benefit if Sarah Palin entered the contest is Mitt Romney. The former Massachusetts governor has sunk dramatically in the polls since the entry of Texas Gov. Rick Perry, and a Palin candidacy probably would skim off some the tea party support boosting Perry, The Washington Posts political blog The Fix reports.
Two national polls now show Perry leading Romney by 12 points, and a substantial part of this strength is with the tea party. Perry runs neck and neck with Romney among GOP members not associated with the tea party but leads all rivals by 21 points among tea party supporters, The Fix reported.
If Palin jumped in, the tea party vote would be split...

A: Because many of the liberal Republicans who supported Rick Romney like Mitt Perry better.
This time next year Palin will be campaigning for Perry.
ROFL!
RINOs fighting, while the tidal wave approaches...
Perhaps a Romney/Palin ticket?
To the headline: NO, Romney needs to just go a way.
Blasphemy!
Wrong Tea party voters. p> Hey i hear a fellow Obot troll at Politico is posting another Perry hit piece so you better go spread it !
Does Romney really think his numbers would be boosted by Palin announcing a run?
On a local Boston Radio Station lots of Romney supporters are praying that Palin jump into the race with hopes that she will split the conservative votes which will help enable Romney to win the nomination. It’s a plan of Team Romney.
Not gonna happen, Romney and his people hate Sarah Palin, plus, she doesn’t play second fiddle to anyone anymore..if she runs she wants the top spot
Mitt Perry: That man, Rudy Giuliani; among those in the current field, he would be the most like Ronald Reagan.
Romney’s below forty in New Hampshire already. He should have have that state wired, and he doesn’t. The only way Palin could save him is if she started firebombing the other candidates. And even that might end up picking up votes for her.
Romney just cannot get the message.
Ordinary Americans think he sucks.
Only the RINO’s like him and there aren’t enough of them to elect him.
Not where it counts Mittens. In SC, this poll shows she siphons from you.
Perry tops with 36% to Mitt Romneys 16%, Michele Bachmanns 13%, Herman Cains 9%, Newt Gingrichs 8%, Ron Pauls 5%, Rick Santorums 4%, and Jon Huntsmans 2%. This is a sea change from when PPP last polled the race in June, with Perry not included. Romney led with 30% to Cains and Gingrichs 15%, Bachmanns 13%, and Pauls 10%. If Sarah Palin joins the fray, it has no impact on Perrys dominance but a lot on Bachmanns standing. Palin would place third at 10% behind Perry still at 36%, Romney at 13%, followed by Cains 9%, and Bachmann and Gingrich tied at 7%.

South Carolina actually chooses GOP candidates Mittens, unlike New Hampshire. Go away Mittens. No one wants what you are selling.
Romney Needs Palin to Divert Perry SurgeBe careful what you wish for.
Oh bull. You guys haven’t been able to hurt Palin and now you are gonna call her a stalking horse for romney? How sick do you have to be to hate her so much?
Mike Reagan has gone as far as he can on the Reagan name and without it, he wouldn’t be anywhere. It’s over now.
