No, you stated that it has “no purpose”. I’m just pointing out that for a lot of people, it does. Otherwise why would it be a multi-billion dollar industry? I made no judgement that it was good or bad. In my opinion it is NOT a good thing, like smoking, or alcohol abuse.

They didn’t exactly defend it; they just noted how its been used and how omnipresent porn is.

I consider today’s porn to be an extension of our society. Look at the advertisements, the content on our prime time television shows; And then look at how the kids dress for school and their proms.

As Barney said “Go Ho or go home.”

One is making the other socially acceptable. If there were disgrace in society for viewing porn, you would see the professional business shrink. Personally, I think a good start would be to clean up the dress and language in our schools.
