While its true McCain has been undercutting conservatism for years, not to mention being a real sob. Romney remains an even worse candidate for the GOP in 2012. Since 2007, thread after thread on FR made it crystal clear that Romney was a lifelong liberal who rejected both the Reagan agenda and the Contract With America. His flip flops on abortion, guns, immigration and other issues are legendary. Romney's rhetoric over the last 4 years favoring conservatism is nothing but the opportunism of political expediency. Willard remains a phony and a fraud.
Just as Fred Thompson knocked down Rudy Giuliani in 2007, Rick Perry deserves kudos for knocking Romney down from his #1 ranking in 2011. Something Bachmann and Cain couldn't do. Will Perry be the nominee? I don't know, but right now he's tearing up the field.
McCain has indeed been undercutting Conservatism for decades. And he cannot be trusted at any level.
His failure as a candidate is also one of the main reasons why we have been saddled with the vile, traitor-punk we have in office now.

I'm hoping there's a scenario in which Willard doesn't even win NH. I'd like to see him go down swinging with a solid 0 in his win column at the end of the primary campaign.
