On Tuesday's NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer began a hostile interview with Dick Cheney by running through various derisive labels for the former Vice President: "You've been called 'controversial' and 'divisive.' Some people have called you the most divisive political figure in this country in a century." Cheney simply quipped: "You left out Darth Vader." Later, Lauer interrogated Cheney on interrogation tactics used on terror suspects: "If an American citizen were to be taken into captivity in Iran, for example, and the government of Iran....Would it be okay for the Iranian government to waterboard that American citizen?"

He just used the fem Matt to sell his book
With all of Cheney’s apparent toughness and his easy access to sensitive national security data, he said nothing in 2008 regarding Bambi’s eligibility.
From now on we must assume that Bambi is legit, right?
LOL! It proves just how well VP Cheney handles liberal scum like Lauer.
Divisiveness is seriously underrated.
We need more of it.
Absolutely agree Cheney is truly awesome!!
Is that really Laurer - boobs and all? I know they are in costume but Laurer took a little too much time and energy into his to suit me. A little too struty for me (reminds me of Bourbon St. Mardi Gras day).
Matt why does you nose look bigger the less hair you have?
Hi Matt! Just wanted you to know that those pinstriped suits you've taken to wearing lately make you look like an even bigger d@&che.
Is this a serious question? The answer is to sell more books.
Why attack his citizenship (a shot across the bow) when his obvious incompetence and buffoonery is the most glaring reason for not electing him President? My guess is Cheney preferred to sit back and let that be Barry’s undoing.
I was thinking the same thing.........where’d he get the cans?
Exactly. And that person would be begging for waterboarding, because waterboarding would be like a walk in the park compared to the real "torture" that other nations would inflict.
It is truly amazing that the Rev Sharpton and folks like him are never “divisive,” but anyone on our side of the aisle is often described that way. And yes, we DO need more divisiveness from our side against them...
You mean to say that Cheney knew, but sat back quietly giving Bambi rope to hang himself with? By doing so, Cheney also hanged the country.
I’ve noticed a definite uptick since about mid-July in the frequency in which many of these network shows have incorporated or insinuated left/liberal/Dem political angles and issues into their programming.
Eureka on SyFy is another recent example, with a prominent display of Obama’s portrait. I expect these ploys to ramp up as this election cycle progresses.
My solution is simple. My Dish Network contract expires Sept. 30th and I intend to cancel that and my telephone land line and go cell phone and internet only. I have a NetFlix account and a Roku box so I should do nicely, at about a third of the cost I’m currently paying... /g
Cheney should have responded:
“Obama is working very hard to eclipse me in that regard.”
Last night’s effort from NBC to cause a rift between Cheney and Bush wasn’t enough? They had to get Lauer in on it too? They have no shame.
Yes.
