actually, that makes sense to me. Remember they initially said the pentagon got hit by a truck bomb?

That was discussed here on FR in 2001 and 2002 several times. Jets were scrambled from NAS Oceana and Langley AFB...reportedly with orders to take the plane down that crashed in PA. I believe that the passengers took the plane out, but if they hadn’t the AF would have.

Cheney thought the military had taken down passenger planes on 9/11

At some point after the second plane flew into the WTC, two things happened. The FAA ordered all aircraft to land, and President Bush gave an order to shoot down any aircraft that wouldn't land.

When Flight 93 went down in Pennsylvania, the President, (and now we know that the VP) initially thought the military might've shot down that plane.
