Well you just revealed the problem. Restricting or not restricting guns to people who have not yet committed a crime has no analogy whatsoever to limiting POTUS to the sons and daughters of non-foreigners/non-foreign enemies. Anybody who thinks that is a good analogy is mired in dysfunctional thinking...or worse.
If you can’t see a loaded question when it hits you in the face, the dysfunction is on your side. The bottom line, again, is that it doesn’t matter how either of us would write the Constitution (although I think the Founders did a pretty damn good job on the whole) it matters what the courts have held it to be.
