It's perfectly reasonable to look outside and check if a character like President Obama tells you it's raining.
But if a person insists that it must be clear and sunny because Obama tells you it is raining then there is a completely different problem present.
Missed the point. We’re talking about Obama telling us it’s clear and sunny AFTER he covered all the windows with opaque black paint and locked the door. In the cases we can check he’s lying; in the cases we can’t check we, we’re barred at every turn. Half of us are saying open the windows and unlock the door. The other half is gloating over the opacity.
