AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry and Democratic challenger Bill White agree that while plans to build a mosque near Ground Zero have stirred controversy, they don't object to a local decision affirming the Islamic group's right to build it. A New York City planning commission voted this week to clear the way for a planned Islamic community center and mosque near the site of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

I own two “Japanese” cars. I suppose that makes me a lesser American, huh?

Like his apparent "just FINE" endorsement of homosexual marriage in New York. He sorta “opposes” then blows stuff off as a local choice.
He would make a good president if he weren't so damn stupid about things like this.
He should have said,’Building a Victory Mosque near where almost three thousand Americans were brutally massacred by terrorists claiming they were doing it in the name of Islam is not only insensitive, provocative and highly insulting to the survivors of that horrid evil hate crime atrocity—building such a spit-in-your-eye structure will rip the scabs off the slowly healing sores of 9/11 and set back Muslim American relations, set them back I say to that infamous day of treachery some 10 years ago.!!!
However,as much as allowing the mosque to be built so close to such hallowed ground disgusts me, I can't do anything about it because the constitution is the constitution.”
But being too stupid,Perry praises with faint protests some awful anti-American thing.

And you can’t understand the difference between an issue that is currently outside the purview of the federal government and a constitutional amendment ratified by the states which legally changes the constitution to deal with the issue on a federal level?
You’re an ignorant dumbass.
To: DRey
Youre a hypocrite.How am I a hypocrite?
To: South40
Hey S40, the guy’s all over the place. His supporters are gonna have to play “Whack-A-Mole’ to defend all the canards that’ll be coming up.
To: DRey
Some detest Perry so badly (or are so abjectly in love with their candidate of choice) that they appear incapable of rational analysis of his comments. I see nothing in Perry’s statement about state’s rights or his preference that the 9/11 mosque be built elsewhere with which I disagree.
To: Tempest
They share the opinion that it’s a mistake and in terrible taste and should be moved elsewhere, but that it really is a local issue and locals should handle it? Wow. Chalk one up for Obama!

Buc...you realize you are talking to a woman who said,
"ILLEGAL aliens will hang drywall for $20 a day, I know this because I see them working in the onion fields every time I drive to the airport".You can't argue with logic like that. :-P

So you must have any issue with his big government health mandate of imposing mandatory Gardasil shots to 6th grade girls.
Or perhaps you take issue with him using eminent domain to steal land from Americans to sell to foreign business interest?
