Those things are tough to kill.
I had one between my fingers and I squeezed as hard as I could and when I dropped it, it continued to scurry away.
I’ve read using a steam cleaner is also a good way to kill them because the steam is at almost 100 degrees hotter than they can stand.
I work in the Pentagon, and the building guys strongly advocate steam cleaning as the best way without tossing around alot of toxic fumes (which everyone hates). My guess...without DDT around...every single house in America will have a steam cleaner within five years.
