Palin missed the boat. ..Waited too long.
All aboard the Perry/Rubio train, woo hoo.

“Political patronage. People here who don’t really know what makes her tick underestimate her passion on this.”
Yes, that’s why I gave her a pass on McCain. That wouldn’t have been a good hill to die on, and Sarah is pretty good at recognizing bad hills.

Is your ass empty yet? With all of the “facts” that you keep pulling out of it, it should be.

I agree with you, it isn’t going to be pleasant if she declares.

Why would a 3 term governor of the 2nd largest state with the world’s 15th largest economy settle for second spot to a 1/2 term governor of a state of 710,000 people?
To: CA Conservative
The question is not whether the hard-core Palin supporters will vote for her - it is whether anyone else will. That is an open question, and it does not look good for her at this time. If she were to win then the question will remain if or not people will vote to defeat Obama or not. As many have attested to. But I will vote according to who lines up with what I want to see happen. It's time and likely the last time to vote conservative.

Yeah, because it would show how she is more concerned about saving taxpayer money instead of wasting it on frivolous lawsuits. By all means, yes, Rick Perry! Retweet an article that shows Palin knows more about fiscal responsibility than he does!

And even if there were polls that said that he was leading her after she gets in, even the most reputable polls, you’d just attack the source wouldn’t you?

You know, it’s somewhat true that Palin’s name recognition and her support is largely among people who don’t know her record.
The reason she is widely known and supported is for more superficial qualities such as personality and straightforwardness.
Palin has the advantage of having substance in the superficial aspects as well as the profound.
In other words, as her record becomes known, her support will expand in a big way.

The problem with FR these days is that the Palin zealots become unhinged at anything less that 100% dedication to her and 100% smearing of any other GOP primary candidate. That's not true at all. Palin supporters are as passionate about their cnadidate as others who have determined there's. You're forgetting there are many who are not ready to go fully in for any until this cycle is further along. There are still candidates who have not declared....
I've had many good conversations and debates with people on Palin threads as well as others. You just have to move away for a time if things go over the edge...which is to be expected.

“I meant, that is the underlying theme. They dont want her to run. They try to deflect, disuade and deceive the true intention, which, IMHO is to keep Palin out.”
You are 100% correct.

I guess you aren’t aware of the border doctors/pharmacies where US doctors have set up hospitals to provide care to US citizens for a fraction of the cost. I have a brother who went to Mexico for a surgical procedure because his insurance wouldn’t pay for it. He’s done fine and has recommended the surgeon to several others.
You know why there is a booming medical complex across the border? The doctors don’t have to deal with the bureaucratic BS.
To: Sudetenland
Don't flatter yourself. The vast majority of Palin supporters are prepared to accept other options if that need arises.

While they don't want her to run they go apoplectic at the thought that she isn't going to endorse him.

Because of the rest of the package. We need a true conservative that supports the Constitution as it was written--Perry is that. We need a conservative with a proven track record of cutting budgets, cutting taxes, and building an attractive environment for companies to create jobs--Perry has that. He is articulate, smart, a powerful and wise campaigner who has faced the worst that liberals within our state could throw at him with aplomb.
If you are searching for perfection . . . good luck, but Perry is the best of the lot.
Perry has sought to stop the crime associated with border crossings--drugs and coyotes smuggling people, but he is not strong on deportation. If you read my posts, you will see that I am quite critical about his softness on illegal immigration. I am, however coming to see one thing. I do not believe that there will ever be sufficient support for mass deportation of illegals from the US. I believe that the best we can hope for is some sort of worker ID and a form of the Bracero Program.
It has long been a major thorn in my side that we have bi-lingual . . . every thing . . . but education in particular--especially because the underlying principles have been disproven. Bi-lingualism does not ease the entry into our system, it enables insularity and separation. We need acculturation of the disparate immigrants, not separation.
Given all of that, Perry believes that if they are going to be here, it is better that they are educated than not and his DREAM Act isn't the huge liberal giveaway that the one in Congress is.
So no, I am not thrilled with his immigration stance, but there is so much more to our nation's plight than just immigration
Note, that in this last session of the Texas legislature, Perry pushed very hard for an anti-sanctuary city law but it was defeated in both houses.
I personally would like to see a repeat of Eisenhower's Operation Wetback, but I will assert right now that we will not ever see an operation of that kind again. The voters would not support it . . . even if in their hearts, they actually applauded the idea.
Unfortunately there is no simple solution . . . and yeah, I know I sound like McClame and Bush, but as I examine the issue, I don't see a good way out . . . maybe hunting tags? /sarc
