Man? I don’t think so. Screwed up? I very much think so.
I gave blood at a Red Cross blood drive last week. The tech that takes your vitals and asks you the battery of questions about your health asked me what my gender was. I corrected him and said he should ask me what my sex is. He understood but he told me that a recently instituted policy by the Red Cross says that if I said that I was a woman he would have to mark me down as a woman.
I forgot to ask him what other choices were on the list.
Has anyone else run into this?
