On November 16, 1990, Barack Obama, then president of the Harvard Law Review, published a letter in the Harvard Law Record, an independent Harvard Law School newspaper, championing affirmative action.
Although a paragraph from this letter was excerpted in David Remnick's biography of Obama, The Bridge, I had not seen the letter in its entirety before this week. Not surprisingly, it confirms everything I know about Barack Obama, the writer and thinker.
Obama was prompted to write by an earlier letter from a Mr. Jim Chen that criticized Harvard Law Review's affirmative action policies. Specifically, Chen had argued that affirmative action stigmatized its presumed beneficiaries.
The response is classic Obama: patronizing, dishonest, syntactically muddled, and grammatically challenged. In the very first sentence Obama leads with his signature failing, one on full display in his earlier published work: his inability to make subject and predicate agree.

Hopefully the Republican can start governing when they setup the Obama inspired “Office of the President Elect”.
Remember November 2008 (right after the election) when David Brooks of the New York Times said Bush should just step aside and let BO start governing NOW? Not even wait for the Bush term to end in January '09?

“I’d like to take the time to clarify” instead of “I’d like to clarify”, just one example of badly needed editing.

The first sentence out of the mouth of every Republican following Qbama’s defeat should be “As David Brooks said following Obama’s victory.....”
Tweak them from the get go and at every opportunity thereafter. The incoming Prez should appoint a person to specifically look for crap like that the libs said and shove it right back down their throats. And complain like hell that such complaints are racist, heterophobic and harm women, children and the elderly when they whine about it.

Bump.
435 is the countdown to election day.
This is the first thing I have ever seen on the writing of Barack Obama. I had heard that he contributed no law review articles and that everything else had been scrubbed or buried.
This pretty much confirms what I believed. Jeez...what a country.
When Obama and Perry (if he is the candidate) debate maybe they should have an essay question, ‘Write 1000 words on what the Constitution means to you.’ Then they should project it for the audience so we can read what they write. That would be entertaining and enlightening. I can see him peeking over Perry’s shoulder while Perry is hunching up trying to protect his answer.
Where can I download the entire Obama-written article?
A president who can’t write an intelligent sentence and a VP who can’t speak a sentence without putting his foot in his mouth - what have we devolved into. The line of Roman emperors comes close to this pair of doofusses.
