How smart do we want our presidents to be, and what does their academic performance tell us about their chances for success?
This month Texas Gov. Rick Perrys college transcript was leaked, and the Republican presidential contenders academic performance at Texas A&M turned out to be less than stellar. Perrys critics seized on the document to suggest that he didnt have the aptitude to serve as leader of the free world.
Is there a correlation between success in the White House and a presidents perceived intelligence, or at least between academic performance and Oval Office success?
Bring it on. Let’s make academic achievement an issue in the campaign. Each of the Republican challengers should submit their college transcripts for review so that the voters can compare their records to those of President Obama . . .
. . . oh . . . .
right . . .
Matter of opinion I suppose. I would give slot number 2 to Jimmy Carter.
IMO Lincoln just barely edges out Wilson.
Are Obama’s college transcripts even available for comparison? I understood that they were under lock and key. However, I have noted that Obama is barely able to put a coherent sentence together without his teleprompter. Eloquent, he isn’t. Perhaps the libs should re-think this tactic.
Thanks.
Lincoln was right up there with Washington as the greatest president. Of course, both were among the greatest men in all of history. It was the Slavers who tried to destroy the Republic and Lincoln who saved it.
Lincoln was a power hungry bloodthirsty monster who usurped power and destroyed the republic of our founders. Other than that, i have no problem with him.
Of course, he was. Just lay down and the men in the white coats will be there soon. They will take you to a place where your theories will get a lot of support.
I assume the abovementioned critics would be the minions for Romney and Paul. Surely the DemocRAT apparachiks don't want to open THAT can of worms, and cause some curious eyes to want to seek out Obama's hidden transcripts?
Just think, had Nixon lived today he would be on the World Poker Tour counting his bracelets.
If a person is really that smart, they wouldn’t run for the office in the first place.
That might backfire. We have learned that his administration is not afraid of forgery.
Academic achievement means squat in the real world.

This is going to be one crowded asylum.
Yes, indeed!
You must be a real live wire at parties.
You can base your view of history on the Great Lie if you please. You both can meet “Napoleon” in the Bug House.
