How can they count someone not buying as a loss? This kind of wordsmithing annoys the heck out of me.
With all due respect, if the sun rises on an empty hotel room, that is revenue that will not be recaptured. If a night goes by on an empty restaurant table, same thing. A plane takes off with empty seats, money down the drain. Not sure I agree with the figures quoted in the article, but certain sectors of a tourist economy do take a hit.
