One of my Finest Moments was on the day of Aug, 26, 1968(1), when on the ORDERS of Chicago's finest I sort of 'bumped' and .. oh .. 'hit a few' of them with my '62 Chevy on Michigan Ave by Grant Park.
The Hippies *thought* they could block traffic. The Chicago Police thought otherwise. And I always obey the Police :-) The filthy Hippies scattered like cockroaches as I was coming at them in the far crosswalk.
(1) That was the day leading up to the night of the 'Hippie Riot' when the CPD cracked heads on Michigan Ave. And almost that cool is that night Dan Rather got whacked by a Cop on the floor of the Convention (at the old Chi Amphitheater) for being ... Dan Rather.
