It probably doesn’t take hurricane-force size wind to knock down a mall. And given that Irene is 500 miles wide, I imagine it could do some damage to structures 140 miles inland.

Well I'm not saying the mall didn't come down - it could have been a spin-off tornado.

But if a tropical storm strength wind knocks down a Mall - that seems like a problem with the strength of the Mall.
