I am impressed with the Queen.

The queen sitting on the earth with her dogs was touching.

Yes. What bothered me is that in one place it said that Prince Philip names all the Labradors. In another place it says that the Queen names all the Labradors that are whelped at her kennel.

Well, which is it?

Which it was is we see tons of pictures with the Queen and her beloved Corgis, but nobody has ever seen a Lab romping around the palace. Which is probably a good thing, given all the old expensive items a lab would destroy in puppyhood.

In fact I bet her palace insurance policies prohibit Labs, so we'll never know what those dogs are doing.

Some of the old retriever training books recommend that Labs, etc. that are to be used in the hunt never leave their kennel. Other trainers recommend “rotating” their hunting dogs so that each one gets time in the house with the master.

That is why I don’t have hunting dogs. I couldn’t stand to leave my Golden out in a kennel. I like him at the foot of my bed (and on the bed when my husband isn’t looking).
