It was the first Monday of the month, and a line numbering more than a hundred spilled from the doors of the District's largest food stamp office and down the sidewalk nearly a half-block to the corner of Seventh and H streets NE.
Children darted among the adults as the procession moved at a funereal pace toward the building -- a 10-minute walk from the U.S. Capitol -- where food stamps are dispensed. The hustlers who trade drugs, stolen goods and cash for food stamps waited patiently outside for people to emerge clutching books of stamps.
"For a $65 book, I am not going to give you over $30," a man wearing a leather jacket said as he and his partner did a brisk business almost within earshot of a security guard posted at the front door.

You bring up a good point: the Bible’s solution for the situation of a destitute younger woman is that she marry some man who will provide for her, and work at the job of being his housewife.
All Christians must take the food out of homeless hands, march against food banks and soup kitchens, and take ice cream out of the hands of children.
You seem to have an ice cream craving today. I think the supermarkets will reopen this afternoon, get a nice gallon of Neapolitan and some whipped cream. Invite some female person over to apply the whipped cream upon.
Savoring that ice cream because of someone elses suffering, makes it taste better.

Your comments are so off base that they dont make sense. You want to use Jesuss words to justify your selfishness. People are hurting in this economy, and none of you will ever know the extent I have helped people over the years - and you shouldnt. I dont mind people who need food stamps getting them, even if my tax dollars pay for them. I may be in a position one day to need them. None of us can see the future. Ive put into the system, as most of you have, and one day you may need to reap from what youve sown. Just saying....... If someone wants to deny a poor little child some ice cream, then you are one heartless bas****
You did tell us you were on a 'rant'. And you did bring in your Jesus to use as your personal whipping boy by partially quoting His Words. Now your partial quote can be found in Matthew 25:42 but without beginning in Matthew 25:31 and reading the 'whole' promise of what will be is deceptive and misleading.
verse 31 When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory:
32 And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33 And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.....
One really really needs to read all of what is going to take place and what determines this sorting of the sheep from the goats: Christ is the sorter not you. And you are not going to bait me into putting up my giving/charity list to disprove your unfounded accusations of selfishness.
You better believe people are hurting, and it is NOT by accident. Some of the hurt is out of 'ignorance' through deception because we hired goats to rule over US. But soup kitchens and food pantries is NOT the solution. Redistribution of this nation's individual wealth is against Christ's own teachings from the beginning.
God Himself has Amos warn US as to what else would be. Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD GOD, that *I* will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: (You have not seen anything yet.)
So you agree with me, but you want to jump in and make a personal attack anyway, you shouldn’t personalize things here and carry baggage from thread to thread.
Confusing, or mixing, Christianity and government socialism is a dark trick by the left that needs to be countered every time it is encountered, especially when conservatives start adopting it.
I agree with you about ONE PART. And it's bullfeces to say I am personally attacking you. Don't order posters to argue a certain way, numbnuts. like barking out a command not to use Christ in a given argument. You don't get to say nuttin about how a person argues.
you shouldnt personalize things here and carry baggage from thread to thread.
Bullfeces. I called you out on your behavior HERE on THIS THREAD. The only thing that carries from thread to thread is that I think you are a control-freak amd ill-tempered, disagreeable jackwagon. That won't leave.
Confusing, or mixing, Christianity and government socialism is a dark trick by the left
You can argue the point by showing Jesus's (and his Disciples) quotes where he disavows socialism, not by barking out commands.
