I’ll have more on this as it develops (updated twice since the original report now), but for the short term, it appears that a non-visible light irradiance effect on Earth’s cloud seeds has been confirmed. The way it is posited to work is that the effect of cosmic rays (modulated by the sun’s magnetic variations which either allow more or deflect more cosmic rays) creates cloud condensation nuclei in the Earth’s atmosphere. With more condensation nuclei, more clouds form and vice-versa. Clouds have significant effects on TSI at the surface.

Update: From the Nature article, Kirkby is a bit more muted in his assessment than the GWPF:

"Early results seem to indicate that cosmic rays do cause a change. The high-energy protons seemed to enhance the production of nanometre-sized particles from the gaseous atmosphere by more than a factor of ten. But, Kirkby adds, those particles are far too small to serve as seeds for clouds. “At the moment, it actually says nothing about a possible cosmic-ray effect on clouds and climate, but it’s a very important first step,” he says.

Another "bombshell" dud. Warmists are having a field day ridiculing the rights reaction to this latest "bombshell," and are calling the results inconsequential/meaningless and are still saying "it`s the co2, stupid."

One more tiny nail in the AGW myth. The more research done—I should say non-politically motivated research—the more holes appear in Al Gore and his religion of man made global warming.

Well they can’t admit the implications since when the follow up experiments are done it is game over for their computer models.

BTW there is another paper showing that CO2 levels aren’t really being driven by Human activity but by natural processes.

Well, back in the old days I recall the way they detected cosmic rays was with a "cloud chamber." This "finding" seems almost autistically redundant.

Leftists are the dullest tools in the tool box. Takes them years to learn anything new. Unless a new theory comes from one of their worshiped lefty idols, they need to be dragged kicking and screaming to the new truth. You watch however. In 4 to 5 years, these theories will be the accepted norm and these lefties will act like they always knew these theories were fact.
