That was one of the things that Scozzafava (and the Democrat, Owens) tried to point out as a negative about Hoffman back in 2009. Hoffman owned several homes within the district, owned several businesses within the district, but when he was running, he actually resided in a home about a hundred yards outside the gerrymandered district lines. His plan was to establish residence after the election results (probably at a home that he actually owned within the district).
The ruling class, establishment progressives wanted to make an issue of that. I don't think it got much traction.
I've never been a fan of Mr. Stabins. He spends like a progressive Democrat. But this is a new low for him.
