BROOKSVILLE - Steven Langone was at the Publix supermarket on Mariner Boulevard on Thursday morning handing out flyers and asking people to join him in his efforts to kick County Commissioner Jeff Stabins out of office.

This morning, he plans to do the same at the Sweetbay, just up the road from his Elgin home.

This is from Brooksville, Florida. We have a county commissioner, Jeff Stabins (RINO, Spring Hill), who has purchased a home in upstate New York and is now living there. He refuses to give up his $61,000/year salary for his part time county commissioner position while he lives over 1,250 miles away from his district.

He also plans to continue his political carreer next year by running for Congress in the 23rd district in New York. That's the district famous for the 2009 RINO, Dede Scozzafava.

I hope my FRiends in New York will do everything possilble to avoid sending this dishonorable man to Congress to reperesent that district.

Right now, my Florida FRiends can help turn up the heat so we can be rid of this corrupt commissioner and get some representation for that district on the county commission here.

Where in New York is he, because we are now due to a soaking from Irene.
He may not like it here after all... especially when they close roads due to overflowing creeks.
Unless, he is too important to obey road closures and gets himself swamped by said overflowing creek?

He purchased a home in Sacket's Harbor, NY.

It would be sweet if his home washed into Lake Ontario.

Can you believe the nerve of these establishment guys? He thinks he doesn't have to actually live in his home down here to represent people in his district. He shows up for half a day, twice a month. For this, he collects a salary of over $5,000 per month.

He doesn't plan to resign until next year. Probably after the election in New York (although he's been saying spring time lately, I don't think that was his original choice).

That was one of the things that Scozzafava (and the Democrat, Owens) tried to point out as a negative about Hoffman back in 2009. Hoffman owned several homes within the district, owned several businesses within the district, but when he was running, he actually resided in a home about a hundred yards outside the gerrymandered district lines. His plan was to establish residence after the election results (probably at a home that he actually owned within the district).

The ruling class, establishment progressives wanted to make an issue of that. I don't think it got much traction.

I've never been a fan of Mr. Stabins. He spends like a progressive Democrat. But this is a new low for him.

It’s only going to get worse.
The political class think they are above us and exempt from the laws.
