I’ve gone through all those as well but not 20 hours sustained 30-50 mph winds. Lots of old buildings.lots of old trees and a really old sewer system. Storm surge can literally cover the Rockaways and lower Manhattan train stations at the very least will be flooded.
One other thing. All those big buildings will take a wide band of wind and channel it.Its one reason these are a few spots that are seemingly always windy like lower Broadway.

Sustained winds 30-50 hours for the better part of 24 hours can wear down a lot of construction. Watched a carport across the street bounce across a roof (punching holes along the way), take out the tower on a boat and then crash into another neighbor’s side door. Looked out another window and saw a boat in my side yard. Took me a moment to realize the boat was in my next door neighbor’s yard, and I didn’t have a 6ft privacy fence anymore.

Well, of course, if were talking about 60mph winds for twenty hours, we’ve got a problem. I just looked at a city map that showed my apartment out of the flood zone but one block over the neighborhood is in a Category 2 hurricane zone (I think - something like that). I’m in Kips Bay but not in the city at the moment. No, not me! Went straight to the Jersey Shore, lol! One thing we don’t have in Kips Bay: trees!

Stay safe, please.
