I just got an email from my friend in Philadelphia:
“Hi. My basement and garage are flooded and the winds are absolutely horrific. The bathrooms have large skylights (glass) so I think it’s a coin toss.....the power keeps fluctuating- the power back-up on my computer keeps clicking.., so I don’t know how long I will have electricity......I had 2 hours of sleep......the winds woke me up......sounds like freight trains.... you can hear things being thrown around out there.
My cats are under the bed........and my neighbor (these are big, old, 3 story, brick houses, Philly row homes- now called “town homes”.....lololol....) is singing gospel at the top of her lungs....She is a gospel singer in her church’s choir......services, all over, were cancelled today.......
But... we’re ok here.......still standing.”
I'm originally from part of tornado alley in the midwest, and have heard a few of those unscheduled choo-choos.
It's bad enough when you can see the damned things, but at night that's one scarrrry noise.
