Water levels at Sewell’s Point (Norfolk metro) is now just inches below levels reached during Hurricane Isabel in 2003 and the “Nor’Ida” storm of Nov. 2009!

Stu Ostro: Spectacular radar image of Irene as its center moves back offshore. Such a large storm with, on this image, such a tiny little rain-free center. (The actual eye, or what's left of it, is probably larger than that little dot.)

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel water level is rising fast; 8.29 feet (normal tide is 3.6 feet). It’s worse than Isabel.
