Although not part of the financial crisis as presented here, my complaint against Bush was that he never used his veto power to constrain spending.

If he had had the line item veto he would have.

My understanding is that a lot of the spending particularly done in the Pelosi House (when the economy really started to turn South) was bundled in with military spending.

Same thing happened with Reagan.
