British special forces are on the ground in Libya helping to spearhead the hunt for Col Muammar Gaddafi, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.
As a £1 million bounty was placed on Gaddafis head, soldiers from 22 SAS Regiment began guiding rebel soldiers after being ordered in by David Cameron.
For the first time, defence sources have confirmed that the SAS has been in Libya for several weeks, and played a key role in co-ordinating the fall of Tripoli.
With the majority of the capital now in rebel hands, the SAS soldiers, who have been dressed in Arab civilian clothing and carrying the same weapons as the rebels, have been ordered to switch their focus to the search for Gaddafi, who has been on the run since his fortified headquarters was captured on Tuesday.
Libyas National Transitional Council (NTC) said Gaddafi was wanted dead or alive and promised an amnesty to any of his inner circle prepared to betray his whereabouts.
Nato still has no idea where the despot is holed up, and yesterday he taunted his opponents by claiming in a TV interview that he had secretly toured the streets of Tripoli without being spotted.

Which is it?
It seems inevitable that the “Arab Spring” means an increased likelihood of massive bloodshed in and around Israel. They are truly being surrounded by hostile regimes and the period of peace appears to be over.
We are living in biblical times and the forces of evil are growing stronger around Israel. If you have not picked up the book of books lately it definitely makes for interesting reading and study. It is uncanny to compare the events predicted in prophecy to the events we are witnessing unfold.
Glad to see that SAS is also commanded by the League of Morons.
1. Anyone familiar with the footage from Libya from the last 5 months can see that Libyans do not wear "Arab clothing". They wear clothes like anyone else, often Western labels. SAS in "Arab clothing" will stick like a sore thumb.
2. Since SAS murderers are not in uniform with clear marking of the army they belong to, under Geneva Convention they are classified as SPIES and enjoy no protection. They can be shot. Or left to die very painful death.
My guess is they are British but of Arab extraction, so considered expendable.
Libyan sovereign wealth is worth more than UK and French gold reserves combined.
That's the part of the picture what banksters are hoping to loot.
THE SAMSON OPTION
It is possible to take Israel out in a first strike with nuclear weapons. It must be remembered that Israel has a triad of retaliatory options such as bombers, ground launched missiles, and submarine launched missiles.
Yes an adversary of Israel can take it out if they have enough nuclear weapons in a first strike offense.
What must be remembered is that Israel can absorb a nuclear first strike and still reduce all major population centers and military centers in the Middle East to a smoking radioactive cinder.
The Samson option also includes Russia.
And major population centers and military centers in Western Europe.
Creation of Caliphate is masterminded from the City Of London.Muzzies are only the tool. If Isael is attacked with nukes, Elysee and City Glassworks should be created along Mecca Glassworks.
IMHO nuke attack is not very likely. I am more afraid of false flag attack with WMD on Palies to blame Israel in order to provide independence to "Palestine". That's how scum work today.
The Russian media reported a few days ago that NATO Special Forces were operating on the ground in Libya, and were taking Tripoli for the rebels.
When the russies said it, it sounded wild, but now here it is in the sober British Daily Telegraph.
It amazes me that those nomads haven't figured that out after all these years.
I agree with all you say, but resent this “wag the dog” benefitting Bambi. Media lionize him when he does not do a what? a “Farthing”?
And I have no doubt that the CIA has been feeding the SAS/SBS (and probably French SpecOps as well) satellite imagery to help bring down Qaddafi. I mean, does anyone really believe that the “rebels” actually organized and conducted a successful amphibious operation all by themselves?
Yes. As time goes by and I feel I have a clearer image of "The Big Picture" the more of an isolationist I become. The idea that our armed forces are being used to depose recognized foreign leaders on what can only be described as a whim scares me greatly.
Afghanistan I can understand, they attacked us. Iraq I can still justify in some way, because they threatened us and aided our enemies. Also, we were able to lure great numbers of Al Qaeda to Iraq and kill them, a task which is infinitely more complicated in Afghanistan.
But the list goes on, seemingly ever expanding. We attack Pakistan, our reluctant ally, who helps us out of fear and betrays and robs us any chance they get. Yet we pour billions into their country and still call them friend because we can not get out of Afghanistan. We bomb Yemen and Somalia, not because their governments have attacked us but because terrorists from those countries have taken advantage of our shoddy and schizophrenic security at home. We make Libya an ally, establish diplomatic relations and trade, invest in their industry, welcome their terrorist leader with a hearty handshake and a promise that all is forgiven. Then when a bunch of disaffected protesters in a distant town are suppressed we turn on our newly minted friend and begin to destroy his military and target him for assassination. Why? Because he didn't immediately abdicate power.
Who will we attack next? What dictator, king, or President-for-Life can rest easy, not knowing who the next U.N. mandate will be against? Zimbabwe? Belarus? Myanmar? Venezuela? How many No-Fly-Zone-Regime-Changes under a U.N. flag will NATO enforce? What have we become?
Several reporters during the push to Tripoli mentioned reports of civilian attired non-arabs asking for directions, or traveling with the rebels. They’ve been there for months.
By the timme the dust settles in Libya, most people who are sane and have a minimum of two gray cells to rub together will have realized that the only reason to hunt Gaddafi is to secure his place as leader. End of story.
Th rise of Sharia is going to be ugly.
Personally I favor regime change in all those places. If the UN does not veto these actions, then good! All the better!
We should relieve Pakistan of the burden of their weapons of mass destruction.
We should bomb Yemen and Somalia a lot more.
Kadaffy was never an ally. You believed that because you wanted to. You wanted to believe that Bush made an enemy into an ally, but that was never true. The United Kingdom is our ally, not Libya.
If you believe that nations have no permanent allies, but permanent interests, then you need to understand that we dealt with Kadaffy only because it was in our interest to do so at the time, just like it is now in our interest to destroy him. Overthrowing Kadaffy has nothing to do with "protecting civilians", "international law", or any other "humanitarian" concern. It was entirely strategic and geopolitical. It was indeed wise for President Bush to have tricked Kadaffy into disarming himself. It made regime change possible.
