7.0 used to be considered a pretty darn big quake

how developed is that area?

I have friends in Haiti who are STILL living in tents since their quake. I think that area is going to take someone liek Bill Gates to start at one corner and build roads and bridges and houses and just keep going until they reach the other side.

Hiring locals and building factories to supply the food and building products until there is enough work to be self sustaining

That’s the way to help a country -not handing out free food- which just makes the farmers go out of business and the famine worse next year.
