She quit her Oil and Gas commission job before her term was up. She quit when she was waylaid by a bad ethics law she herself signed. Maybe she should have stayed on the job and fixed that mess instead of bailing out. She had the power as the governor to convene a special session.
The oil and commission move was, as I understand it, what enabled her to put the GOP crooks involved in jail.
And the legislature was so politicized after her VP run that they wouldn’t have given her any relief—or additional useful legislation.
Yeah, I’d rather she’d have stayed and done the speaking and book-writing on government time the way Romney and so many others have done it. Would have been the politically easier thing to do.
But I see the honor in her move actually having been better for the state, as her sympatico lt. governor was the political target she was.
