Flashback: Obama in 2008: Adding $4 Trillion to National Debt ‘Unpatriotic’ Wednesday, August 24, 2011 By Matt Cover

(CNSNews.com) – Although the national debt under President Barack Obama has increased $4 trillion since he took office in 2009, as a presidential candidate in 2008 Obama criticized then-President George W. Bush for adding $4 trillion to the national debt, saying it was “unpatriotic” and also “irresponsible” to saddle future generations with such a large national debt.

“The problem is, is that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years is to take out a credit card from the Bank of China in the name of our children, driving up our national debt from $5 trillion dollars for the first 42 presidents -- number 43 added $4 trillion dollars by his lonesome, so that we now have over $9 trillion dollars of debt that we are going to have to pay back -- $30,000 for every man, woman and child,” Obama said on July 3, 2008, at a campaign event in Fargo, N.D.

“That's irresponsible. It's unpatriotic,” said candidate Obama.

This is the perfect thread in which to unveil my new tagline:

“Are you better off than you were four trillion dollars ago?”

I know it’s more than that, but it fits the “four years” slogan much better.

“Patriotic” is never to be used when describing the narcissistic little Marxist bastard.

So, the $90 billion theft from taxpayers and pension funds (mass refi) to buy votes seems like small potatoes to Obama.

Senator Obama provided some of the best campaign commercial material ever prior to 2008. I expect to see most of it and it will be very effective outside of his hardcore base.

Whoever gets the job to write commercials for the GOP nominee will have the easiest job in America.

When a stealth radical like Obama uses the term “patriotism” it is nearly always with an intended irony.

They believe patriotism is a reactionary and retrograde concept, and enjoy any opportunity to needle a traditionalist by employing their own values against them.

The MSM for the most part undestands this, which is why they get themselves in high dudgeon when a conservative implies that some leftwing radical is unpatriotic, but not when a lefty questions the patriotism of a conservative. They know that the former is sincere, the latter ironic.

Thanks, can never post this too much...

Not holding my breathe for the MSM to ask Obama if it is still unpatriotic to vote for the debt limit increases,or if he was just lying.

As Judge Judy asks:”Were you lying then or lying now?”

Media spin has become the new reality. Dear Leader is absolutely welded to the notion that no matter what he says or what he does, the spinmeisters in the MSM will hide, distort or lie on his behalf and make his own reality. To some extent he’s right, but his loss of support only demonstrates that all of the people aren’t being fooled all the time.
