A steel reinforced concrete building is a steel reinforced concrete building. Not at all... in L.A. they put them on giant rollers and things to allow movement. Huge difference.

Not at all... in L.A. they put them on giant rollers and things to allow movement. Huge difference.I was on the 11th floor of the (at the time) Crocker Bank building in downtown L.A. when I was a youth and a 5.6 hit. It was weird to feel the swaying and hear the walls creaking.

Not at all... in L.A. they put them on giant rollers and things to allow movement. Huge difference. That provides additional protection for the really really big one. But steel reinforced concrete buildings, even old ones do very well in earthquakes.
