Probably the camera got knocked off level. Looks like it’s leaning right though. We need a correction to the right in that God forsaken town, that’s for sure!

Assessment of damages in Maryland:
(I.e., a lot like last year's *very* small earthquake.)

Stuff like that just doesn’t happen here, which is why it’s so sensational. I looked for fault lines right along the east coast of the US on a few maps, and saw none, so naturally we’re pretty worried.

Good to hear that your outlook is picking up to “fatal” — it used to be so much worse. ;-P

Here's a link to a live web cam of the Washington Monument. It does look like it's leaning (to the right!) but it may be an artifact of the camera angle.

At least one of those events was a storm. Excerpt from the description:
This event occurred during a "fearful" storm that was accompanied by
violent thunder and lightning and raging seas. Possibly a hurricane.

When I felt my first tremor I practically dove under a table,
Lol. Looks like your saloon shootout and earthquake responses are mis-wired. I think you’re supposed to go outside during a quake lol

Lower upstate NY. We didn't notice, but my husband (about 1/2 hour drive into the valley) felt his computer chair moving. They immediately turned on FOX in the lobby to see what was going on.

I felt it up here in North Central CT. I just got done mowing the lawn. I was sitting in a chair, cooling off in shade of my garage. I felt a weird sense of vertigo and saw my daughters old Wonder Horse on springs moving side to side. I thought this is an earthquake. My adult beverage did not spill though. We're just west of BDL airport. When a jet takes off right over our house or the National Guard is doing helicopter maneuvers (both pretty rare events, thankfully), our house will shake a bit and glasses will clink, etc. I felt absolutely nothing today, though, and I'm incredulous listening to all the CT callers on WTIC radio reporting their earthquake experiences.
I feel left out... :-(
Glad to hear your adult beverage didn't spill!

That made me laugh out loud. Having lived in California during 5.5 quakes, I know they are no big deal—OUT THERE, but honestly I felt this one 450 miles away.
People in California routinely drive off the freeway when it rains. I’d see it happen every first winter rain of the winter.

It’s a massive triangle-area effected, from the epicenter to Rhode Island and Canada. It’s not some small beans, just think of the land area this thing shook.

As I understand it..the Pacific Ring of Fire...has had major quakes recently..at each “corner” of the Ring...Chile, New Zealand, Japan..what’s DUE is the Cascadia fault...everything I’ve read says it that one lets go..the tidal wave will caused MORE damage than the quake itself..
